Remember the deadline to sign-up for Youth Fair is Wednesday, May 8th. If you need another form they can be found online at: http://extension.oregonstate.edu/columbia/announcements/4-h-youth-fair

We will start Saturday morning with three really quick classes that you can rotate through and then move to the barns with “project specific workshops”. Please look at the schedule and decide where you can learn the most. Most of the superintendents will be in their barns all day, so if you have a conflict, drop back by to visit with them one on one or in smaller groups.

The majority of the Livestock and Small Animal portion is just one day – Saturday! Dog is on Sunday. When coming to Youth Fair you only need to bring your showmanship animal, and you can leave your small animal in the carrying cage you bring it in. However you also have the choice to use a cage in the barn provided, but you will need to leave a cleaning deposit (check only, no cash).

For those weighing-in livestock, please note that you have options on both days. Most importantly these options will be less stressful on the member, parent, and on the livestock. For more details or questions, call Dave Elkins: 503-556-3208.

Horse portion, you will need to review your Horse Contest Guide, this material is the basis for county fair rules and are developed and written by the Oregon-Washington 4-H Horse Curriculum Team.
